In this half-day workshop, American Literature teachers and Instructional Coaches will build capacity to calibrate extended response assessment results as a means to improve instruction for increased student achievement on the Georgia Milestones American Literature Assessment.
In an initial synchronous session, the group will examine 2020 Assessment Guidelines and scoring rubrics to increase understanding of look-fors and traits characteristic of each scoring level.
Upon completion of that portion of the workshop, individuals will break away for thirty minutes to privately score a set of provided student work samples (collected from our region during the 2018-19 school year).
In the third and final segment, individuals will return to the full group for a facilitated discussion of scoring results. Ideas and resources for how to differentiate instruction and target writing improvement will be shared.
Time: 9:00 am -12:00 pm
Participants will need a laptop and internet access.
