Course Description More Details
The WGRESA Math Implementation Team will meet here at WGRESA five times during the 2022-23 school year from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm to plan for the Fall, 2023 implementation of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards. This team is open to all Math Teachers or Leaders or alike. Districts/Schools are welcome to send as many representatives as they wish to be a part of this team.
While here members will work in grade bands (K-2), (3-5), (6-8) and (9-12) to weave together units of instruction using the standards, curriculum maps, learning progressions and transition documents. Time will also be spent on creating rich tasks and compiling resources to support each unit of instruction.
This team of teacher leaders will then take knowledge learned back to redeliver in their district/school for Fall, 2023 implementation of Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards. Initial registration includes the following five sessions:
October 26, 2022 - Introduction, Mathematical Modeling, Mathematical Practices, etc. January 25, 2023 - Unit 1
February 8, 2023 - Unit 2
March 22, 2023 - Unit 3
April 19, 2023 - Unit 4
Participants will need a laptop for this session.
