Please Note: Applicants must complete a Dyslexia Endorsement Candidate Application Form and a Disposition Form to be approved by RESA to enter the Dyslexia Endorsement Program and/or attend Gifted courses.

In Course 1 of the Dyslexia Endorsement Candidates will develop an understanding of language processing, instructional strategies to support learning to read, aspects of cognitive behavior that affect reading and writing development and the phases of typical development of oral language, phoneme awareness, decoding skills, printed word recognition, spelling, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression.

This is Course 1 in the series of three courses in the Dyslexia Endorsement. The Dyslexia Endorsement is available to individuals holding a valid renewable Georgia Teaching Certificate who have completed a minimum of 3 years of successful classroom experience. Candidates must complete the application, along with recommendations from school and district administrators.

The Dyslexia Endorsement will take approximately 10 months to complete.

Participants must have a laptop and internet access
